Urjit Patel : #1st RBI Governor to officially resign since 1957




Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Urjit Patel's resignation from his post has made him the third RBI Governor to officially resign.

While Patel himself has said that he resigned due to personal reasons, many suspect the growing rift between the RBI and the Centre to be the cause.

Notably, the last official resignation of an RBI Governor took place in 1957.

The first RBI Governor to officially resign was Sir Osborne Smith, who quit his post in 1937 owing differences with the government over policy issues.

The second official resignation came in 1957, when Sir Benegal Rama Rau resigned owing to a Nehru-backed attack on RBI's autonomy.

संघ लोग सेवा आयोग (UPSC) के सिविल सर्विस फाइनल रिजल्ट 2017 में इस बार हैदराबाद के अनुदीप डुरीशेट्टी ने टॉप किया है। अनुदीप ने ये सफलता गूगल और यूॉट्यूब की मदद से प्राप्त की है। उनका कहना है कि उन्होंने इसके लिए कोई कोचिंग नहीं ली थी। लेकिन वह अपना ज्यादातर समय इंटरनेट पर ही बिताते थे।

उन्होंने युवाओं को सलाह देते हुए कहा कि जरूरी नहीं है कि एग्जाम पास करने के लिए आपको कोई कोचिंग लेनी पड़े। उन्होंने कहा कि आजकल हर चीज ऑनलाइन मौजूद है बस जरूरत है उत्साह और प्रेरणा की। उन्होंने बताया कि आज के समय में कई प्रकार की मैग्जीन, वेबसाइट और अखबार हैं जिनमें हर विषय की पूरी जानकारी दी जाती है। वहीं अगर फिर भी हमें कोई चीज समझ ना आए तो यू-ट्यूब से बेहतर टीचर और कौन हो सकता है।
28 साल के अनुदीप का यह पांचवा और आखिरी प्रयास था। वह कहते हैं कि वह 2012 से सिविल सर्विस एग्जाम देते आ रहे हैं और इस बार उन्होंने फैसला किया था कि वह अब आखिरी बार एग्जाम देंगे। उनका कहना है कि एग्जाम देने से पहले उन्होंने यह ठान लिया था कि वह इस बार अपना बेस्ट देंगे। इस बार वक्त उनके साथ था और वह एक टॉपर बने।
अनुदीप भारतीय राजस्व सेवा (आईआरएस) में असिस्टेंट कमिश्नर पद पर तैनात हैं। उनका कहना यह सफर उनके लिए रोमांच से भरा रहा। वहीं एक आईआरएस अफसर केवल राजस्व विभाग तक ही सीमित रहता है लेकिन एक आईएएस अफसर को कई विभागों का काम देखना होता है। उनका कहना है कि अब उनकी जिम्मेदारियं पहले से कहीं ज्यादा बढ़ जाएंगी।
अनुदीप ने तेलंगाना कैडर को चुना है ताकि वह अपने जन्म स्थली राज्य में काम कर सकें। उनका कहना है कि तेलंगाना एक ऐसी जगह है जहां उनका जन्म हुआ है और यहां काम करना उनके लिए गर्व की बात होगी। उनका कहना है कि उन्हें चाहे कहीं भी पोस्ट किया जाए लेकिन शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य विकास के लिए कार्य करना ही उनकी पहली प्राथमिकता होगी।
